Elephant Ivory Grips
Who is the best supplier of elephant ivory grips for S&W revolvers? I found a set of ivory grips for a Colt 1911 at a gun show, and really like them, and now would like to try a set on one of my S&W N revolvers.
Thanks.

Ivory is very regulated and there are a few makers of ivory grips out there just do a google search. I sold a set of Magna ivory grips with S&W medallions last year to a forum member so you might want to post a WTB in our classified and see if anyone has a set to sell.

Collins Craft has them and I think they are $550.
I bought my first set of 1911 ivories in 1975 and howled at the $32.50 price.

I read that some one was making some out of the mammoth ivory they are finding in Russia and it is not regulated.

I don't think it's legal to import it here anymore so its money, sold in varying grades also, like everything else.
