Help with approximate value, 27-2?
Hi Guys,
I'm looking at a model 27-2, 5", blue, no target options, S31XXXX serial range puts it at 1968-69. ANIB with blue box, paperwork & screwdriver. Owner wants 900.00. Your thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thanks, Bob

Sounds right at the top but not over the top since it is ANIB. I recently paid $1020.00 for a 1964 M27-2 with a 6 1/2" barrel without box or paperwork.

I recently got one as new without box for $650 and thought I paid top $ - but maybe I got a deal?

You better buy it. That is a good price for a 5 inch 27-2 with an S prefix. Especially if it is truely NIB.

That would be at the top of the price range for an average 27-2. For one complete and NIB, I would have to think that would be a good price.

If it's absolutly mint with all the goodies then it's at the top of the price range but still a decent deal.

Sounds like a fair deal on both sides of the proposition. Great vintage with the S serial number, and actually I prefer the standard hammer and trigger to the target variety (though most of my N frames have TT and TH).
The complete package (box, papers, tools) clinches it for me. I would buy it if it were in front of me!

Thanks for the input guys. I have seen several 5" guns without boxes with the N serial numbers at lower prices but this is an S serial no. if that makes a couple hundred dollar difference.
What would the cash difference be with all target options against no target options on the same gun?
Thanks again, Bob

ken158 got a deal (no box and he did not say if S or N). IMO you will be paying top dollar, but in the condition you describe and considering it is an S serial number, I would snatch it. They surely don't grow on trees.

I concur with the other comments. Seems at thr top but certainly not over given the condition. Let's say its $50 too much. Does that change things?

Value you ask?
Value is subjective, if you want it and have $900 laying around that you don't mind spending on it.........then yes it has a value of $900, to you, who else really matters, it's your money.
With that said, if you bought it for $900 and 2 weeks later had to sell it to pay to fix the furnace or the car, I think you'd come up short

SOLD!
My lust for fine blued steel got the best of me and I committed to the purchase
Now the hardest part of the hobby...waiting for it to arrive. No, its not that I gotta have it right now...next week will be fine, BUT, the wheels keep turning. Will the gun be as delightful in hand as the photos and my mind made it out to be
I have been lucky so far, just hope it holds out one more time.
Thanks to everyone who helped out, I appreciate it. Bob
