Default Model 25

I found a Model 25 in .45 ACP at a LGS the other day, it was Nickel and had a 3" barrel. I didn't even handle it so I don't have any idea what dash it is or if it had a lock(I don't think it did). Were these offered by S&W with a 3" barrel without being Lew Horton specials? I found a similar one on GB but am unsure if the one in question has a lock. Thanks

Welcome to the forum.
It seems like I remember seeing some here without the lock but I don't remember if they were some special order.
This will bump you to the top so someone with a better answer may come along.

I don't believe S&W ever offered the M25 in nickel . . . until the new "Classics" with the #&*@ lock on the side and the cheesy-looking new "magna" grips.

Without the lock, I'd have bought one though. IMHO, they were nice looking guns . . . except for that Hillary Hole.
