Default 3" square butt Model 10

Picked up a Model 10-5 3 inch square butt today. She has some finish wear but locks up tight, no end shake and the trigger feels good.

Cleaned her up a little today, hosed out the internals and put a few drops of oil on pivot points. The magna grips were pretty ******, so they're soaking in acetone and will be oiled when clean, put on a set out of the safe for now. With a Tyler grip adapter, she really balances and fills up my big mitts pretty well.

Off to the club for a few rounds in the morning, I'm thinking this could make a pretty decent IDPA piece. Likely paid a little much at $350,but I haven't ever found another 3 inch square butt. Serial is D527***, I'd guess around mid-seventies?

That is nice. I prefer the round butt for shooting, but sure would have jumped on yours.

I'd have jumped on that for $350 too. I've always liked the feel of 3" K frames. Let us know how it shoots.

Very nice find. 3inchers are always popular and 350 seems to be par for the course these days.

Very nice 3 inch Model 10, didn't know they made em' with SB. Here's a 10-8 that I bought from an NYPD detective

Another 10-8 ANIB, that I bought from David Carroll, factory fired only

Default let me know...

if you want to part with it, a 3" would do good at my falling plates matches. I have a m.10 and a m.15 snub, use both for plates matches, both square butt, which i prefer. You are right, slap a Tyler tee on those magnas, and it just doesn't get much better for grip and balance. I think you did just fine. But you knew that already...

Great all around Smith, good leather and an extra six, you're good to go.

3" model 10's should have been a standard sales item. I never see/saw them around where I live.

I consider the 3" barrel as the Best barrel length for carry.

I have a 3" 66, 64 and 13 models S&Ws (Also a Ruger 3" service six) . The 13 being my favorite of the group for carry.

They are all round butts. I would love a model 3" model 10 too. The other 3" I would like is an early model 686.

Good luck with your new revolver.

Fred
