laser grip or the overmoulded one more desireable? Also are they universal with either the round or square grip?
TIA
Rick

I have a Model 65 with Crimson Lasergrips and find them comfortable and accurate. It is my nightstand arm and I feel very comfortable with it.

The lower numbered Lasergrips (100 series) are hard plastic and a bit slippery. The higher numbered ones (400s, some 300s?) are a good compromise, checkered but slick on the sides and rubber front and back for a secure hold.

As far as the specific model that fits your 66, check if it has a round or square butt frame. The 2.5" and 3" are usually RB and the others SB but not always. Then, check the CT website to see which models fit your frame.

I use them on my 637.
If by over-molded, you mean covering the backstrap, Yes, I'd say that's more desireable for recoil control.
I like how they work, but just realize that the laser is mounted on the side of the gun, so the red dot will move to the left, the further out your target is.
Not a replacement for adjustable sights on a 66, but a great training aid and instant target acquisition aid.

You can buy round or square grip style.

I have Crimson Trace LG-305 on my Model 60 Pro Series. I can't speak highly enough for it, it is truly wonderful. The grip itself positions the hand for better control than the stock grips and really absorb recoil. The advantages of the laser are many; as CT says "help the bad guy make an informed decision", helps guide your shot in the dark (green is better than red in daylight) and really makes dry fire practice more effective by giving immediate feed back when you pull the trigger and watch the dot.

I have a set on my 642. I adjusted the horizontal where it converges @10 yards. I also have set on a 1911. It's adjusted to POI @25 yards. I like them. Never had any problems.
