Congratulations on the decision as you will like them both once you get the 686.

Dunno if you have come to your senses or gone stark, raving mad. But I applaud your decision!

Not being an L frame guy, I would rather have the 36. If you want an L frame call me 417 861-2362...my local shop has several

Everybody needs at least one J frame and at least one K/L frame. Once you get the 686 you'll see why and be glad you kept the 36.

Another vote for good choice. I'm not an L frame guy either. The J will fit in your pocket. I think the Ks do everything an L will do in a smaller package and if I'm going to be shooting full-house loads, which I am not, I want an N frame anyhow. Just my 2 cents!

Many of us started with the larger framed guns and the longer barrels, considering the little 5-shot snubbies as lesser guns.

Now, after decades of shooting experience, I've gravitated to a more sensible direction. I discovered that those big boomers are too large and heavy to ALWAYS have on you, and I realize that two-legged predators choose to attack when others are most vulnerable. Thus, if trouble ever comes my way, probably the only firearm I'll have at that moment of total surprise will be my little Model 37 Airweight J frame.

As well as it shoots, this comforts me greatly! It is my "always" (on me) gun.

I'm so glad you are keeping the ONLY gun that may logically be handy if trouble pops up at your door!

Tom
