Default [langtitle=hi]25-5 45 long colt 8 3/8"[/langtitle]

[lang=hi]Hello all
1st post
i have the 25-5 i purchased new 30+ years ago? and shot maybe 6 rds, it has been a safe queen in it's wood presentaion box since then. i called a local gunsmith today about cutting it down to a 4" or so barrel for a Packin type piece but now i have 2nd thoughts as to the value and would it be wiser just to buy a packin piece?
i can't seem to find my original paper work so i don;t know the DOB... serial#N716XXX
any help would be appreciated.
thx
dave[/lang]

There is no easy way to say this.....you cut the barrel on that fine gun and several on this board (present company included) will beat you about the head with what remains of that classic.

Sell it or trade it if you must for say a 625-9 Mountain gun in 45 Colt. Which I happen to have.

Now that that is said, welcome to the forum.

Your 25-5 probably was shipped in 1980. I would not cut the barrel.

Default You have been warned!

Painful consequences would surely result from such rash conduct.

I'll add my 2 cents worth....please don't cut up that great revolver...there are lots of carry guns...trade or sell if you must, but please give someone here a chance to adopt it...one of us will make it worth your while.

Oh and welcome to the site

I bought this 25-13 used, lnib in 45 Colt a few months ago. I've shot it a bunch. Very nice gun. Big for carry like all N frames, but doable. Don't cut your barrel. There should be a market for your gun if you want to sell, and you should be able to get a very nice gun for the same price/or trade.
