Two more Gander Mountain finds
I saw a couple things at the local Gander today. A nickel 10-6 4" for $229, and a 681 for $299. Both were shooter grade but pretty decent. The 10-6 was tempting but I don't have a need for it right now. Too bad the price seems ok.

I would say both prices you quote are "Buy it Now" quality. Especially the M681. It will not be there next time you go back.
I got my M10-6 for about $230 + tax four or five years ago. It should sell quickly too.
I have not seen any deals anywhere near as good as good at my local GM. But if you want a hot deal on a used Taurus...

Sadly I don't have a need for either, and I just bought a 629-1 yesterday. These will be someone else's good scores. This is the Gander in Fayetteville NC by the way.

I love this forum. I took a peek in this thread because we have a nearby Gander Mountain (and IMO, they don't give much away) and I was gonna make a smart comment.
Anyways here's a 681 - well I have a WTB on this (and other forums) for a 681 and here one sits in Gander Mtn Fayetteville NC.
Two calls later, it will be on its way to Gander Mtn Knoxville with my name on it - mint bore per sales guy - used PD gun but that's what I wanted. A very good price too.
Thank you Dragon88 for the photo.

So I went back to Gander and immediately saw the 681 was gone. I'm glad a forum member got it! As for the 10-6, I kept telling myself, I don't want it. I don't need it. I don't want it.... Guess what? It didn't work. The darn thing followed me home.
Ok, I admit I did want the gun. It fills in a barrel length gap in my collection, I now have 2" through 6" Smiths.
Model 36, 37, 10-6, Pre 10, and 629-1.
Dare I ask, what does S&W make in 7"?

Taking a break from polishing, she is looking much better already. The serial on the 10-6 is 3D065XX. There is a gap at the 3Ds in SCSW, but am I correct in assuming it falls in 1978?

Last year I bought an unfired pre-27 circa 1956 from my local Gander........for $299. It even came with a tooled holster. Now I stop in for a visit at least weekly....LOL.

Boy I wish the Gander Mt stores I deal with had deals like that. There are 3 of them within 50 miles & I've NEVER seen deals like that.
If I ever see a nice looking 10-? for $229, it's mine!

Gander is way overpriced on their stuff. But every once in a while, a good deal comes up. Apparently these two guns had been sitting in the back for a while, and they decided to put a few out just too see if they would sell. If they would sell?? Makes me curious as to what else is in their back room.

Must be region specific. Here in Grand Rapids they would both have been $350 +. NEVER (ever) see deals at Gander around here.

Gander Mountain around here is usually way overpriced, but I did find this one a few years ago.
Model 39-2, 9mm.
At the time I saw a few of these around town in the $400.00 range. This one was tagged at $250.00.
I kept it a year or so, and traded it off. (insert headbang here).
