I finally was able to get my smith 27-2 out to the range yesterday. I worked up some handloads of 13.0 grains 2400 with some 162 grain # 358156 SWC's. For only a 3 1/2 inch barrel, it shoots pretty darn well at 25 yards. The center cluster was after the gun was sighted in. I only worked up about 20 rounds, but I plan to load up more of these and chrono them when I get the chance.
You're making me sad that I let my 27 go.....those Grashorn's look good too. I have found that my 3"-4" stuff shoots just as well as longer barrels...I can actually shoot them better than the 6" barrel guns that I used to have.
