27-2 Not Model Marked

I ran across a 27-2 as marked on the label of the correct box but the gun has no model markings. The gun is a 3 screw, 5", blue model and the serial number is correct as listed on the label, don't recall what it was though. Has anyone else run across such a gun? I assume the factory just missed the model number stamping.

Once in a while that happens. I have a Model 57 shipped in 1968 without a model stamped in the yoke cut.
