Model 64 No Dash
Picked up this clean, barely used Model 64 a couple of years ago.Pinned but, not recessed. Correct box, numbered grips, paperwork, even the owners portion of the registration card showing that it was purchased Sept. 1975.
The screwdriver and cleaning rod were in the box. What tools would have been shipped with this model? Did S&W ship screwdrivers with fixed sight guns?
Serial # is D555xxx. Can help me with a manufacturing date?
Thanks, Mike

Rimfires and magnums had recessed cylinders. Is ther a "1", "2" or some other number in front of the D?

It shouldn't have come with a screwdriver, but someone may have just thrown it in the box from habit, or it ended up there after the fact. I believe it should have come with a mop and a brush though.

Very nice find. You got all the goodies with yours.
The one below dates from July of 1973. It came with goodyears, but I had a set of real grips just waiting for it.
Enjoy Yours,
Jerry

Thanks for the info...The serial number doesn't have a numerical prefix.

Yes, the early 64's are sought after now and are hard to find for someone looking to make a "set" of 64's. It's one of the few I am missing.
