Default 9mm Revolvers

I've owned both the 547's and a 940. The 547 models were heavy barrel K frames with a unique but, overly complex ejection system that did not use moon clips. The 940's are a concealed hammer J frames that uses moon clips. These are all stainless while the 547's were blued.
I could never get my 547's to group well with anything other than 147gr. subsonic ammo.

I own a square butt 547. Never heard of any issues with regard to function. They were discontinued as they were complex to build in order to get reliable firing and extraction of the rimless rounds and not popular when new. They are surprisingly valuable now and scarce. The snubbie was a moon clip gun and not as mechanically distant as the 547. Function on the 940 should be no different than any other moon clip wheel gun. Dave

Some other posts mentioned 940s with extraction difficulties, which cleared up with a little polishing of the charge holes. Also, there are posts of 9 mm cylinder conversions of a .38/357 J frame.

Hi, please check your linked e-mail account; the Forum states you can't receive PMs. Thanks!

Two 547s. No problems of any kind with either.

3-inch barrel, round butt.

4 inch barrel, square butt.

The K frame 547 is pretty mild to shoot but the J frame 940 will REALLY get your attention. I pocket carry a 940 in an Uncle Mike #3

I would love to have a 547 here in Italy! 9 Lugers in Italy are banned by law for civilian use BUT this and a few other revolvers in 9 Luger are legal only with use of a lead bullet

547
940
and FN Barracuda are the only 9 Luger guns availabile(but difficult to find)
