Default Question about my 15-2 snubby

I recently picked up a nice 15-2 and was wondering if it is capable of shooting +P rounds through it. Thanks for any advice.

A few for SD, but not a steady diet. Besides, why would you want to? If you want more power buy a .357 Mag.

I have a 4" 66-1 .357, but was wanting to keep +P self defense loads in this gun for carry. I have no intentions of shooting them all the time, but wasn't sure if the gun could handle them or not.

During my LE career ('67 - '97) we were issued model 10 - 2", model 15 - 4" and model 15 - 2". The issue round was +P just before we transitioned to the Glock .40, so I can only guess that your model 15 should handle +P. Just to be cautious I would only shoot a minimum of them and stay with regular pressure .38 for practice. Great revolver, enjoy it!

This question comes up quite frequently here. The official word from S&W is any model marked K-frame is OK with +P. Since your gun is a 15-2, you can shoot all of the +Ps you want out of it. You wallet will be exhausted before that gun is.

I agree with Nframe shoot all the +P ammo you want. After all it's a K frame. The model 19 and 66 is a K frame and they shoot 357's. Don
