Default My Latest Two-Tone (Model 19-2)

It had been a while since my last two-tone, so I was very happy to obtain this one. I'll take a better picture when I have time. ***UPDATED***

Model 19-2 shipped to Rex Firearms Co., New York City, NY, on 5/11/64

Very sharp looking gun. It looks to be in very nice shape. How did you find it?

Mike, I guess I should have said, "when I have sunlight."

gunnut44, I met the previous owner on the forum in January. We stayed in contact, and recently, he was nice enough to let me buy it.

Very nice.

I am learning to appreciate pintos, but I am trying to appreciate them from a distance. I suspect that if I ever saw one close up, I'd be immediately hooked on another class of collectible that would drain money from my retirement fund faster than my fund is actuarially designed to support.

Well, dying of starvation is OK if you have a wonderful collection of scarce S&Ws, right?

What's the history of those pintos? What models, years, and quantity produced? Before I joined the forum, I had only seen one - the Colt Python Robert Blake carried in Electric Blue. I thought it was a custom thing, not factory. Will someone be kind enough to educate me. Thanks.

long colt frazier, the pinto bug is a nasty little critter. It is like a mosquito, but instead of blood, it sucks funds out of your bank account.

DCWilson, since two-tones aren't sold often, I control my spending by collecting them. That is my story, and I'm sticking to it.

j38, I own nine, but Mike told me real men collect things by the dozen.

MP1983, the earliest post-war two-tone in my database was shipped in late 1952. Special orders continued well into the 70s. Pre-24s, Pre-27s, 19s, 29s, and J frames are seen more than other models, but I don't have exact numbers.
