price check model 15-2 RB Pics posted
Just picked up a model 15-3 RB for 295.00 OTD. Its about 90 %. Has some "rogers" grips on it. Locks ups tight and has a smooth trigger. Should clean up ok to be a shooter. Did I pay too much?

Hard to beat any Mod 15. They are great shooters. The last Mod 15 I got for $275 had a lot of wear and destroyed grips. A little TLC and new grips make it one of my favorite shooters. I wouldn't take less than $400 now, if I did want to sell it.

It's not a bad price, but all model 15s of that era were SB - has the grip frame been altered?

Actually it is a 15-2. Wasnt wearing my glasses! Has a C prefix serial number on the grip but a K prefix serial number inside when you open the cylinder.

No offense intended but something ain't adding up with the serial numbers. Joe

Agree with something being wrong here. Model 15's were never round butt and "C" and "K" prefix shouldn't be on same gun.

I like it, I hope it turns out to be factory. It's different that's for sure.

Thanks for the pics 4507CAMS. It appears that the backstrap has been modified and the butt restamped with the C 48xx number

Think it was a S&W factory job or a gunsmith custom? The work looks really good to me. It's going to be a shooter starting next week.

I've never heard of factory modifying grip frame and I'm confident they wouldn't stamp a different serial number on the grip frame.

I guess I'll enjoy it as it is. No wonder I got a "good deal" on it. Should be safe to shoot?
