29-2 Factory reblue?
I read the "re-work" section in SCSW-3 and I think I know what these extra stampings mean. I just want someone to confirm what I think I know.
The gun is a M29-2 with s/n N70595, which puts it as shipped in the 1969-1972 time period.
Rectangle with 'R Bl' on bottom of left grip frame - I assume that indicates a factory re-blue? Note the numbers '974' on the front of the grip frame - could that be the date of the re-blue? (I don't find that number anywhere else on the gun.)

Rear face of the cylinder has 'B diamond' stamped. Is that also a re-blue mark? Or does that indicate something else? (The s/n is stamped on the cylinder underneath the ejector star.)

There's also a 'spade' stamped next to 'G3' on the yoke. Is the 'G3' the assembler and the 'spade' is his symbol? (The 'G3' is also on the grip frame next to the 'R Bl' rectangle.)

Thanks.

Both the marks indicate a reblue in September 1974. The B and diamond stamping aren't seen too often.

The markings indicate your gun was reblued 9/1974. I am not sure if the other markings indicate refinish or just fitters marks. I recently looked at a 29-1 that shipped as a blue gun but refinished to nickel by the factory in 9/1980. It had a star on the cylinder face which I had not seen before on a post-war gun. Curiously, this gun also had the multiple serial number markings normally only associated with 5 screw guns.

The star re-work mark was applied at lease as late as 1975, possibly later and somewhat sporadically. A gun to be re-finished will be found to have the SN hand stamped on the barrel flat and back of the cylinder frequently.

Update
Thanks for the replies, guys.
The s/n is stamped on the cylinder under the ejector star.

There are no stampings on the barrel flat inside the ejector housing.
The ampersand on the barrel is a "standard" ampersand (same as on the frame) - not lazy. Don't know if this is correct or not for that early of a gun.

The style of ampersand on the frame and barrel is correct for a 29-2 in the N70000 serial number range. The earlier style ampersand was replaced by the more modern style in late 1971 on the frame and by late 1972 or early 1973 on the barrel. I would "guess" your 29-2 was shipped sometime in 1973.
