Model 10-5 5" located
I placed a 10-5 in a 5" configuration like new no box or papers on hold at a local gun store yesterday.
I was marked $289.00.
After several others fondled it and put it down I swooped in for the kill. It dates around 69-70 D232...
My question is are the 5" more desirerable than a 6 or 4"?
Thanks,
Adam

That depends on your individual preference. I like 5" barrels but they are a bear to find holsters for unless you special order them. Sounds like you made a great hit.

I don't know if they are more desirable but they are the coolest barrel length.

I've got one 5" gun, my M&P 4th change. It's no beauty but it handles great and has rapidly become one of my favorites.

I never owned a 5" but I surely like my 10-5 4". I used to not like the standard barrel but my taste has changed. I guess it is because I am getting old. We'll wait for pictures. Good price and I'm sure you will be happy with it. Enjoy.

I think 5" is the perfect barrel length for either a K- or and N-frame.
My 5" postwar M&P balances exactly like a revolver should.

That is a great deal. In my area 5 inch barrel revolvers are rare. I would buy one in a heart beat if I found one.
Good luck with you new model 10.

Probably my nicest Smith is a 10-5 with a 5" barrel. I traded 'my neighbor the lawyer' for it. ANIB for a Husky 9.3x62. Hated to trade the rifle but I had to have that revolver.
I have shot it once, and it stacked 158gr. SWC on top the front sight at 25yds. Very cool. Your going to love it. Great gun.

with all the goodies for $289, you've knocked a homerun, I saw a 5in LE trade in beat nearly to death yesterday tagged at $279.
5in M10's are cool, my favorite M10-5 is this little 3in'er

My 10-5 5" (pic)
If I recall, I paid $232 about 4 or 5 years ago for this on Gunbroker. I love shooting it because it makes me look like a good shot! The rosewood laminate grips were added later.
