Default M29-2 DOB Assistance

Hello Folks...I traded for a M29-2 8 3/8 today. I saved up and bought a M29-2 with a 6" bbl in 1979. I traded it a few years ago...stupid. I have been wanting one again ever since. The one I got today is in excellent condition with the presentation case. Looks to have been fired very little. I wasn't really that interested in the long barreled model but the deal was workable and I figured I could get it rebarreled if I really wanted a 4" or 6.5". For now, I am going to see how I like the long pipe. I would guess it to be late 70's to early 80's based on the fit and finish. The serial number range is 7809XX. Any info on the date of manufacture would be appreciated...Thanks

I presume the SN has the N prefix, which would make it a late 1980 shipped gun. Enjoy!

Yep, duh...I forgot the "N". My brain has had a rough life. Thanks for the date! I have never shot a .44 mag with the long barrel. I suspect its easier to shoot well than the shorter tubes. I'll see. I have to get to work at the loading bench tomorrow...Thanks
