Default primer backs out

I have a nice nickel 4" m 19-4 it is like new. original nickel.

While out shooting with my son who has a 3" Taurus 357 my 19 would blow back a primer with 125 mag and 145 Hornaday mag. In one chamber only. It needed a rubber mallet to open. It will always do it with that ammo. 38 standard, 38+p and +p+ both 110 and 147 are fine. 158 gr mag is ok so far. It is not a stuck case but a blown back primer All factory ammo. The Taurus had none of these issues. What do you think?

I am not sure what the specific issue is with the gun but I would be very reluctant to shoot 125 grain 357 Mag ammo in the gun. There have been reports of cracked forcing cones in 19's and it seems to happen most often with the 125 grain bullets. I would stick with the 158 grain ammo as you indicate it works well and reports of forcing cone issues seem less prevalent with this bullet weight.

You indicate the problem only only occurs in one chamber it would seem to me that there is a problem with that chamber, a trip to a gunsmith or S&W would seem to be in order. I wonder if the chamber is not sized correctly allowing the brass to expand to the point that it wedges in the chamber and does not allow it to contact the recoil shield and thus the primer is unsupported and backs out?
