Default found treasure

It`s almost friday and I`m going to get my wife out shooting this weekend.
She has had a M-60 for many years and has had increasing problems shooting it due to carpal tunnel and possibly some arthritis.
So I found this old gentleman hiding way down in my safe.I put a Crimson Trace laser on it and she loves it so much the M-60 has been retired from all duties except cc.
This M-19-3 is now in her bedside table and ready for action.
But I don`t remember when I bought it or how much I paid for it
Can anyone provide some info on it?
Ser #4k994xx
Thanks, Jack

It is a 1974 shipped gun, and I don't know how much you paid for it either . Probably about $175 retail at that time?

I wish I had bought a lot more of them and Colt Pythons and 1911`s etc, etc.

Hindsight is 20/20

Back in the day- PC day that is - we had a shoppers newspaper called the Triad Trading Post. They had a gun section and you could just call up the add and do a deal, go to the sellers house pick it up and shoot it all the way home.

Oh to have those days back again !!!!

Sure have proven to be better investments than our 401K - and more fun too.

I sort of doubt that a gain from 175 dollars to only 500 or so would beat a 401K over the same period. If you had purchased that much stock in Intel at the time it would probably be worth well more than 100,000 dollars today.
