I'm looking at a Model 66 no dash as mentioned in an older thread that no longer is getting attention, so I decided to start a new one to ask another question about the gun.
There is a click at about quarter travel of the trigger. It is not the click when the timing detente pops up and hits the cylinder. (I can see that is what happens in my 67.) This is something that you more feel than hear. I went back and looked at it again yesterday, and one of the guys working the counter and a customer that was a regular both thought it might be something with the sear. I've seen this word on the forum, but I don't know what it is other than it's related to the trigger and hammer. Unfortunately the owner/decision-maker was not there to ask about a price break because I suppose it will have to be looked at by a gunsmith, so I'll probably go back today to see the owner. Is this a deal breaker?
One other thing I noticed that I had missed previously was that the front sight had been changed. It looks like the red plastic was removed from the ramp and a black, notched sight had been inserted in that space. One of the guys referred to it as an elevated sight, I guess because it stood proud of the ramp. Any opinions on that?
