Default Model 60 holster help

hey everyone. I'm having a really hard time finding a holster for an older model 60. It has no dash designation. I really want an owb if at all possible. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks everyone.

You shouldn't have this problem. The gun fits the same holsters regardless of whether it has a model number in the frame!

Check gun shows for older Bianchi Model 5 or Safariland Model 29 holsters.

El Paso Saddlery still makes a virtual duplicate of the Model 29, as their Model 2.

They offer an excellent lining, worth the added money, and do superb basketweave and floral carving.

The sophisticated professional gun carrier should see Ken Null's catalog, too. I think he still makes a version of Gaylord's Federal Speed Scabbard or whatever Chic called that design.

I prefer the sort with a thumb-break strap for better retention.

Your post should probably be in our holsters forum. You may get more responses there.

I can not think of any Holster Manufacturer that does not make a holster for the Model 60 and it's brothers.

I own many. most of mine are by Galco, Bianchi, Safariland and Alessi. If I were not in the middle of moving, I would photograph a few for you to see. Unfortunately most of the leather has already been packed.

Look for holsters that fit the Model 36, 37, 60 or 360. They will all work for you.

You could probably find dozens right now an any of the auction sites. You could also post a WTB ad in the classifieds. Just describe what you would really like and see who has a spare one available.

Thanks for the help. I probably should have posted it in the correct forum. I have a screaming baby who refuses to sleep and blanked it However I did check into the holsters recommended and they are really nice. I'm going to have a hard time deciding.

There are 100's of custom holster makers that can make you one to your specifications or desires. Lobogunleather is one that you can call and discuss what you want, but look over their website first to see the different models and options. But, with any J Frame specify is "38 frame" or "357 Frame".

If budget is a concern (and even if it isn't), the Don Hume JIT is a nice little belt-slide leather holster. I used to occasionally tote a Ruger snubbie in one, and it wore very comfortably, and held the pistol acceptably securely (and I believe the SP101 is a bit heavier than the m60).
