Unlucky at love, lucky with guns. That's my Credo.
Here for your consideration is a u
Do you think while they were making the O.N.I. guns with the red
ramp and white outline sights they just threw a few extra in with these
features? Who knows.

Really nice. I've got 2 six inch 19-2's that are nearly as nice as that one. The bluing is reminiscent of earlier smiths, imo. One of mine is stocked in walnut, the other, like yours,in Goncalo Alves. Congrats!

Thanks F.T. yes, so you believe they are Goncalo Alves?
I understand that G.A. is a derivitive of rosewood so they are
kind of 'cousins'.
I have seen some G.A. that is so orange as to be unsightly.
I sure like these though.
Regards
Allen

Happy 47th Birthday Combat Magnum Masterpiece...
Your grips hardly look a day over 20 ,
Especially like how your ejector rod spring pin protrudes through the front of your underlug.
You are So sexy

Yep. Pretty sure they are GA. But then,I've been wrong so many times in my life that it doesn't even bother me any more to be proven so.

WOW... "Nice Piece"
The Combat Magnum has always been one of my sentimental favorites!
I remember drewling over them as pictured in the 1968 Shooters Bible.
Good Find...

Excellent revolver Allen. Wish they were all polished so beautifully, especially in the flutes as your fine example shows.
Since you are undoubtedly running out of space for your massive collection, I would be more than happy to help you out by taking this beauty off your hands. Bob

Thanks for showing us just how well S&W once built guns!
BTW, can you fish in that canal (?) behind your house? Catch much? What?

Things I like about the older 19's. (Pre dash 3)
Diamond grips,
Ejector spring protruding through shroud,
Front site a seperate unit not machined as part of the barrel,
Those grips are beautiful.
I have a set with the same exact chip at the base of the backstrap.
Guessing it happened during the manufacturing process .

Mr. " Frame"
I don't know what I admire most... the gun or the pictures....
Great job on both....
Was that at the Ft. Pierce show?

Just a great looking revolver and representative of the quality of S&W in those years. If you took those photos then I need you to take pictures of my collection.
Thanks for sharing,

Hello all. Sal, (Ditrina) this gun was found at a local pawn shop
down here on Stirling road in Fort Lauderdale Fl.
It was sitting on a low shelf next to a mis-marked model 19-5.
I did not make the Fort Pierce show as I worked Saturday night
graveyard shift then Sunday afternoon.
Just like Dorothy said ; why look over the rainbow when
treasure can be found right in your own backyard!
Regards

So, if I told you I used a $99.00 Nikon Coolpix would you believe me?
Good luck

Very nice find - almost a birth year gun for me. I'd love to find one like that from 1963 (July - but that's really a dream!)
Those grips just put it over the top!!

Allen:
Congrats. I have several of the 19-2 era guns and the finish on all of them is stunning, just like yours. Whomever the factory had sitting at the polishing bench during that era really knew what they were doing.
Thanks for sharing!
