As far as I know there weren't any. They made several in 3", specifically the 24/624, 29/629 and the 657, but I don't think there were any shorter than that from the factory.

The Performance Center made the 357, 41 Magnum and the 44 Magnum with 2 5/8" barrels. All are N frames.

I own this Md 629-5 which is a 2 1/2 inch with fixed sights. I am told there were a few hundred made for Camfour in 2000. 103839 is the product code.

Hey guys, I'm a first time poster. S&W made a special (5K) run of 3" 29's I believe in the mid 80's (not a Lou Horton gun). A fun gun to shoot, especially with the Winchester 210 Silver Tip ammo which was designed for it. Full house loads weren't as comfortable. I've since given the piece to my brother since it wasn't getting any use.......Carl

The 629 was the only modern N-frame revolver manufactured with a 2 1/2" barrel.
There were at least 4 different 2" modern N-frames. Here are a few more variations.
Then of course there were the 2 5/8" revolvers. There were three of these.
Plus lots and lots of 3" N-frames

I have a nickle 27-2 that had a short barrel replaced with a 6 by the factory. I say that because the short barrel, not currently accessible, came with it. Also have a 624 Lew Horton, factory confirmed, that sports a 4" with the 3" in the box. I prefer them as installed and have a tough time imagining the 27-2 with such a short tube.
Drat I think I posted in the wrong thread - got carried away with the short barrel discussion

M625-10 in .45ACP. The M625-11 was the same gun in .45 Colt. Fewer Colts than ACPs.
