Serial numbers
I am looking up serial numbers for a friend. I have the Standard Catalog of S&W, but am having a bit of a problem finding them in the serial number section. One is a 19-3, #7K26xx and a 66, #36K 6xx. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The earlier one is a 1974, and the later probably a 1978 shipped gun. Hope this is helpful.

Thanks Alan, What section do I look in to find these numbers? I am confused when there is a number in the first part of serial# that has numbers and a letter. Thanks again.

The serial number information starts on page 395 in the book.

Thanks, I found the right section. Just did not look in the lower section of the K numbers.

I think we all have done that when we first got the book.
