Default "Baumanize" Anyone still do this conversion?

Was reading in the SCSW last night and came upon this phrase in the glossary, "Baumanize". Meaning to convert Mod 27's to a 7 shot cylinder. I've only seen one of these before, when I lived in Houston. It was performed on a Model 520 and had an engraving of "Lucky # 7" on both sideplate and on stag grips. Was a real nice looking piece imo but out of my price range at that time. Have never seen another and didn't know there was a term for it.

So...anyone have one of these? Anyone know of a smith performing this work?

Would assume that Bowen could do it (what can't he do? ), but are there other artisans who are either known for this or capable of it.

Anyone own one?

Any help (or pic or three) would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If the cylinder notches are milled dead center between the holes then I bet that is one hoss strong cylinder. I love the eight shot N frame cylinders but would still love to see a strong seven. I will be tracking this thread for sure.

They were done by a gunsmithing firm formed to manufacture and install the cylinders, called Baumanize Inc. if I remember, back in the late 1970's early 1980's period. I had a Model 28 with it. They worked fine and were a novelty but came along just as the majority of the handgun shooting world was becoming fascinated with semiautomatics. They have been out of business for a long time.

Thanks Buff for the info.

Wonder if anyone has a pic or three of theirs? With this crew you have to figure that almost one of anything Smith/Wesson will be in someone's hands.

Pic? Anyone? Beuller? Beuller?

Got this off Gunbroker in 2006(?). Realize this is an old thread, but I just recently saw it, so here's some pics. I don't reckon the lifetime guarantee on the moon clips is worth much today :-) Enjoy!

If you were to use a normal 6-shot cylinder in that, would it work?

It came with the original cylinder, although it was stripped. I don't doubt that if I had the parts and put the 6 shot back in, it would work.
