This is a better pic. The rear view is for myself. So I can get a good look at the hammer. I could put a little more style into the shape. After I reshaped the hammer and did some refinish work on the hammer. Pictures make it easier to see the end results. I did a little reshaping/fitting on the grips. For now this one is ok. Damn I had this 19 apart at least 7 or 8 times. I was tuning the action. Polish, file, tweak, change springs etc. put it all back together dry fire and then repeat. It was well worth it. The action is very smooth.

I took this pic of the rear of the Grashorns to try and capture the color that is in the stocks. The pic really does not show the intricate colors very well. But it was the best I do.

I just got my first set of Grashorn grips in the mail this afternoon. When the sun comes up in the morning I am posting a picture. Amazed at how well they fit. My wife redeemed herself after giving me a tie for my birthday...LOL The grips were a surprise!

Pat Grashorn is one of those craftsman who is at the top of his game! I have bought 2 sets. One of them for my sister-in-law's Model 21-4 she received from us when she graduated Cal State San Marcos.
The other set was for my Colt 357 (Pre-Trooper). Both of them were used with T-Grips.
The craftsmanship and attention to detail are to die for. When I need another set, Pat will get the call. I like mine with no bark and some marbling.
This gun was inscribed with her Spanish nickname (for Isabel). It also has the PC forged teardrop hammer and trigger. I also had her re-blued after a 'black powder' chamfer was added to make it 'old-school'.
It shoots into 1-inch with the Hornady 180gr XTP .44 Special.

I was lucky enougth to pick up a blued 19-3, 2 1/2 inch today. 8K87xxx nice and tight , not perfect but it is mine.
I have been thinking of these since about 1970 when i was pondering my possible trip to SE Asia. I never got there but was deployed east out of Norfolk VA. The funny thing is I wasn't 21 yet. So after all that time I finally came on one today.
I have a pair of stags on my 640 and hope to get some soon for the rb K in the safe.

This is a great thread. I am a big fan of Patrick's grips too. I need to get my smiths up to speed though.

I was skeptical on the grip feel prior to purchase. The in hand feel is fantastic. Quality workmanship worth investing in. 696

Thanks for the prettiest thread on S&W forums, or any firearms forum, I put Nanook 450s old square butt stags on my 3.5 in 27-2 yesterday with the Tyler T, I took the Tyler T off because those stags are gorgeous and feel great. Thanks Nanook, he shipped them before he even saw my check, thats what makes all of you guys and girls, the greatest. Smith folks just have more class, yes I saw that snake, if you get tired of looking at that I "might" babysit that for ya. This is my 640 which has been a companion for about twenty years now. The grips are Grasshorns and are about two years old to me anyhow.
I will post the K/L round butt pics after they arrive. Also after I pick which K/L wears it.
Oh just FYI the pink thing on the back of the trigger is an eraser. I glued it there as a trigger stop many years ago and it is still working fine.
My mistakes are not rectified by an eraser. They are too big for that.

Thanks to Klyde a forum member, these Grasshorns have a new home.
They feel great and look better than the Shooting Stars from Herretts which they replaced. Originally it wore some Goodyears and never did the 19 justice.
I don't thing the Tyler adapter will be added. It feels great as it is.
Maybe a pair for the N frame square frame will come. Or the Python only time and money will tell.

It's a Boker hunting knife, Boker Arbolito. I think that means it was made in south america, not solingen. Damn nice knife. Works like a charm cleaning a whitetail. I got it online at AG Russell knifes I think.

Some Grashorn stags......
Two sets of Patrick's stags and the obligatory T-Grips on my 624 and Performance Center 15-9. Some much older homemade stags and a T-Grip on my 1905(Chg. 3) M&P. The Grashorn grips were slimmed by Patrick at my request and fit me quite well. The Grashorn grips look great and make my revolvers very controllable, even with fairly hot loads in the N frame. Some J frame Grashorns for my 642 are my next procurement......

I agree, Patrick is one heck of a craftsman. Not only that, but he's an excellent vendor. I've had the pleasure of speaking with him on the phone. I was looking for a set of no bark stags for my snubbie Python. In no time, I had pictures in an email of a set he made for me.
These are the only one's I have so far. I need to place an order for a pre-10 M&P snubbie very soon.
No Tyler's for my 66-2 (I need to take some better pics!)

I love these photo threads. I download almost every N frame shot and surf them when I want a visual feast. If there was a magazine full of photos like this, I'd subscribe, and for the first time in my life, I could admit that I buy it to look at the pictures!
