Default Model 60 2" Square Butt

I saw one of these at a show recently. Didn't think much of it at the time cause I felt the asking price was too high. Later after leaving the show and heading home I started thinking about it and realized, I've never seen one before. Are these relatively scarce. I probably still wouldn't pay the price, but was just curious, unless of course they are super rare.............

I believe it had Smith smooth finger groove target grips on it, if that's possible.

I think this was one of a special run, perhaps for John Jovino in NY. No mention of production numbers in the SCSW. How much was the asking price?

Default SQ BUTT 60

Picked this up a gun show 2 years ago, I started to walk away when I realized it was a square butt. Jovino ordered these in both 2 and 3 inch, a forum member had a 3 inch for sale a while back but I missed it by 3 minutes!

Square butt 60s and their counterparts the blue 36s are not that uncommon. They must not be 'cause I have one of each.

My wifes, Dad had an FFL back in the 70's and 80's then gave it up. He bought a few RSR and Jovino "closeouts" from some shop in AZ and many of them ended up sitting in his safe when he closed shop.

Among them were two of the Jovino 3", HB SQ butt M-60's. And a pair of 2" SQ butt M-60's. Unfortunately one of the 2" guns had an aftermarket YELLOW insert added to the 1/10" skinny frt sight...now it's a shooter.

Nice additions to the collection.

Had a 2" 36, nickel, square butt for awhile. I thought it was unique, most you see are RB's. Don't remember the serial # off-hand, but I believe it was an '82 gun. It disappeared a few years ago, a common problem for my guns, it seems. I'm just a guy with a lot of wants and no means, nothing seems to suit me for very long. Family guns are keepers, though.
