Default 2.5" N-Frame......Need help filling a holster!

Just picked up a nice leather holster made by El Paso and it's for a 2.5" N-Frame and I would prefer a .357 or .44 Special.
What should I be looking for in a pre-lock to fit this??

Are you sure it is for a 2.5 N frame?? Right off the top of my head, the only N frame close to fitting it would be the 627 PC 2 5/8 Bloodwork gun. In pre lock, there are like only 302 that were made. They brought out a lock version a few years back. They made a 2 inch snubbie in .357, but most N frame short barrels were in 3 inch or 3 1/2.

Default 2.5

There is a capital N and 2 1/2"stamped on the back of it
Was thinking there may be a Lew Horton out there in a 2.5" N-Frame??

Was there a factory 2.5"? I thought 2 5/8" was the shortest N frame...

I've got a 2 5/8" in 629; similar to the "Bloodwork" gun except a 6 shot .44. They were Performance Center guns.

There's a Night Guard model 357 in .41 mag; a model 396 .44 Spl. and a 329 .44 Spl. I've seen them still in some shops.

Mine is a 29-2 Magnaport 2.5"...I love it. But I would also like the Night Guard weight much better for carry.

Sorry Tom...you mentioned pre-lock... I forgot. In that case, I don't know of any factory "N" frame in 2.5 available. Those Night Guards are pretty nice....

I don't have an answer regarding which gun, but I'd be interested in seeing what style the holster is.

I had the same situation as you. An uncle of mine bought a 3" 629 that came with a RH El Paso holster. Luckily he is left handed so he gave me the holster. It hung around for a few years till a guy at work sold me a 25-2 .45acp that I believe is a Jovino. It's a perfect fit for the holster! Now I just need some suspenders to lug around that hunk of iron.
