Default Hammer Shroud for J frames

Beside the Biachi Lightning grips, is there any hammer shroud for a model 36 no dash? I mean something like de hammer shroud there use to be for the Colt D frames.

I believe Michael deBethencourt, a firearms instructor specializing in snub revolvers, has an inventory of the shrouds produced by Waller and Sons for the J-frame. You might want to send him an e-mail and see if he still has any in stock.

Thanks a lot, that site it will be very helpful to me. I’m going to write him right now.

But there are no images of the hammer shrouds for S&W J frames in that site. Does anybody have one image? I would appreciate it if someone could share a picture with us.

If I remember correctly they look exactly like the one on the Colt in the picture you posted.

The only differences between original Colt hammer shrouds and the Waller shrouds are that original Colt shrouds are stamped with the Colt Rampant Pony on the right side and Wallers are not, and that Wallers used a different size screw. Original ones are not easy to find and generally are pretty expensive even if not in new condition. I don't know how much you would expect to pay for a Waller for an S&W.

Alternatives to Waller hammer shrouds for J frame S&Ws are
1) bob the hammer
2) buy a Mod 38 or Mod 49 or one of the newer models which have frames that act as hammer shrouds, such as the one below.

Good luck.

Thank for the advice. I will consider it. Maybe a hammer shroud would be expensive. Buying a Bodyguard would be expensive too. Probably the best option will be bob the hammer like a Taurus 85CH.
