Default M-57 fair price

I am being offered a model 57 no dash, 4" barrell in nickel. .41 magnum. Haven't seen it yet so it's hard to say condition but from the pictures it's pretty good.

What's a fair ballpark price?

Thanks.

It's really hard to say without pictures and more information. A really nice no dash could go $650 and up around here.

It would depend on the year it was shipped. If it was an early gun with factory nickel and blue front sight with Coke grips the value would be north of $1000 1964 to roughly 1966 time frame. If it's a late production gun (post S-Prefix serial #) it's more like $750. Of course case and tools can help too. You have to remember by 1964 (1st year) all of the engineering changes older models went through (ie the 29) had taken place so the 57 was a no dash until approximately 1982 when the pinned and recessed process was dropped (57-1)

This year I have purchased a model 657-1 in about 90% or a little better condition for seven bills out the door. I also purchased a 57 S series gun in like new condition for nine bills plus tax. Both of these are six inch guns. Around here the four inch models seem to go for a little more. I like nickel guns myself. Good luck

I have a nickel Model 57 no dash, that I paid over seven bills to get. I may have overpaid, but I really wanted the piece and am completely satisfied with my purchase. It was shipped in 1979 or 1980. Here is mine.
