Need help with Manufacturing Date

Hi,

I was just gifted a pinned and recessed, 4" S&W Model 19-4. Original box, Target Grips, screwdriver & S&W marked holster. It is in VG+ condition (I know; what a gift).

Knowing the date of manufacture will be very helpful. Serial number is 73K9***. Can anyone be of help?

1980, according to SCSW 4th Ed. The SN range that year was 57K0001 to 91K6800. What a gift, indeed.

Very much appreciate your quick response.

It's from a cousin on the East Coast who had it during times of civil unrest. She also kept it in her shop. Apparently, it always frightened her to have it around. It has found a good home in a state where it will have the opportunity for regular exercise.
