Christmas wish list
I'm wondering what some of you might be looking for under the tree this year. If you're like me, you'll be giving yourself the gift which costs more but also means it won't be fruit cake or a tie!
I have a modest amount of $$ set aside and will be looking around for a S&W revolver. Maybe a M 10 or 19 (love the K frames) or maybe one of the big boys...27, 28, 29..
Anyway, just wondering what some others might be thinking about as a end of the year holiday present to yourself.

I am really wanting/looking for a birth year 27-2 or 28-2 in the right S prefix range. Prefer a shooter grade so I can enjoy it, but if the price is right.

Birth year is an interesting option, but mine is 1951 and that's getting long in the tooth for a handgun. Maybe a "project" gun.

Santa says I'm geting a unfired 2" model 15 ! Been wanting one for years to match my little 2" model 34. Both in calibers that are easy on the wallet and fun to shoot.
Update: Santa says I'm getting a black, reinforced mouth Lobo IWB to go with the 15. Wish he could throw a Tyler in my stocking . May become my new carry weapon as I finally came down with arthritis in my fingers and of all places my right elbow. Shooting full powered rounds out of my beloved .41 mags hurt! Not a problem with a little Unique and a LSWC. Will save the heavies for deer hunting. I'm still a fortunate man as lots are way off than me and a few aches and pain. Nothing a session with my 17 and 34 won't take care of as I'm always in a great mood after shooting them. Gotta love a S&W .22 LR! My little 34 is extemely accurate for such a short barrel and the 17 is by far the most accurate handgun I've ever owned. Even beats my model 41 in a shootout!

I had planned to give myself a M25-5, 4" nickel, .45acp. However, nothing has materialized. So, I decided not to be so selfish and give some of my nickel Smiths new stocks. In the true spirit of giving, MY WIFE and I, mostly my wife, picked out the new stocks, giving her the opportunity to participate in giving. Also, since she is participating, it is not just "gun stuff". I hope my Smiths enjoy their gifts.

Last week I fell into a 5” M 27-2. I had no intention of buying another firearm this year, but an opportunity missed can mean a long wait to find another. So my firearm purchases for 2011 are finished.
As I’ve got more assorted stuff than I really need, my real gift to myself will be a cash donation to the local food bank.

I had my eye on a Colt King Cobra (used) with holster, 2 grips, and 2 speedloaders at a local shop, and a 686-3 6" NIB....I am guessing it should be one of those...
Have to see if my wife picked up on either of those hints dropped.

Bruce, Hope all works out for you,
Planning on trying to make a trade with a dealer for a model 28
2 for 1 with any luck I will have a little cash to boot and be able to help
some folks out during this holiday season. I can only shoot 1 at a time
anyway.

Well, I was looking for a M 10 but found a pre 15, 5 screw that will hopefully be here tomorrow. It should be a 1951 which matches my "born on date". So, Merry Christmas to me!
And Merry Christmas to you too, saemetric! I hope you have a very happy holiday season!

Purdey 12ga sxs or H&H 375 SxS. My wife took the list that has those 2 on the top to the LGS. They kind of laughed. OhWell, model 29 blued, 6" would do, the Dirty Harry gun, in a shooter grade of course!

Mark that off the list - circa birth year. Did not even wipe it down, does have some oil smudges. I'll have to clean it up and Renwax it for proper pictures. Just popped a picture of it in the safe for grins

Model 58, blue, I want to join the club. Missed one Saturday at the GS by being lazy about arrival. My gift to me this year is a M19-3, 2.5 inch. Arrives today! I was a good boy.

A 1970 4" tapered, pinned, blued Model 10-5 .38 Special. (Got it from my brother-in-law! In return, I gave him money!) I put a Tyler T-Grip on it right away.
A 1982 1⅞" tapered, nickeled Model 37 (no dash) Airweight .38 Special with custom finger-groove, palm swell grips. (Traded off a KelTec P32 with 2 magazines, one box of .32 ACP ammo, and a pocket holster for it. Really!)
Pictures once I get to my camera.

I said an early 66 with stainless rear sight last time. Well, it took me until now to get it- should be at LGS soon!
My wish this year? 3 1/2" .357 Mag.
Dang, missed it by $400

I was planning on giving myself a Ruger Scout Rifle this year but a Shield popped up so I had to grab it. Maybe I can swing the Ruger by Feb. or March.

A 90% or higher pre-19 would be wonderful. I have a couple of extra pre-17's that I may try and trade for it.

If you think that 1951 is getting long in the tooth for birth year guns, try collecting them for 1940!

Wishing for a blued, 4" M34-2 RB (I missed the exact gun by ~20min a few weeks ago. The LGS opens at 10a on Saturdays and I got there at 10:20.....just in time to watch it being pulled out of the case and bought .
Also contemplating buying myself one of the new Browning 1911 .22s. Awfully expensive, but I really like 'em.

1951 birth year combat masterpiece or military and police 2". Almost impossible to find in California but I keep hoping.

Illinois Concealed Carry Licenses for me and my bride.
But more realistically, a mint Nickel 4" Triple Lock in .38-40 and a unicorn to ride to the range.

I'm still thinking of an early M19 or M27 unless a "1951" something or other should appear. We'll see.
