Pics of Model 10's with Target hammers and triggers?
I am just looking for pictures of Model 10's with .500 Target hammers and/or triggers. No particular reason, I just saw a 4" Model 15 with TT/TH and thought to myself, that I've never seen any M10's with TT/TH, either fitted afterward or from the factory.
I just love seeing Model 10's with different features, since some of mine are a little "different"

I don't think many or any came that way, but possibly on the target M&Ps. I'm sure they could probably be special order on the standard model, but to me it makes no sense.

I put a 'semi-target' hammer on my early 64 standard barrel. Not for function mind you but just because I like the look of that hammer. These 64 standard barrels came with a grooved, but narrow trigger. To me the full target hammer (.5" or so) looks a bit strange on a K frame. I view my S&W accumulation as functional sculptures and have no interest in 'lettering' any of them. To me the lines of the fixed sight standard barrel K frames are as fine as any sculpture I've seen in a museum or better because they can 'do' something.

Boys I think I have one for ya. Serial #D5170xx. She looks kinda windswept, or humpbacked or sumpin with that TH on her. Kinda reminds me of a hood ornament on a 1956 Pontiac, or a dog with his ears pinned. Is this what we are looking for? 5 " BBL 10-5. I traded a while back for this one so I don't know much about her background.
Regards

That's a nice 10-5, I guess someone wanted a .500 hammer on their 5" Model 10 If I had to guess, I would say it may have been a LEO private purchase gun,and the officer was a "gun guy" and the dept. allowed single action shooting during quals.......so he added a Target hammer. I have read about a lot of LEO's who were into shooting and guns who "tweaked" their private purchase duty guns with stuff like different hammers and triggers, action jobs, etc.
This gun is partly the reason I asked for pics, I bought a MIM set of the TT-TH for my 617-6, and decided not to use them in the 617, so I figured I would drop them into my 10-14 that I put lighter springs in......... and it was a perfect fit. The gun is a tackdriver and I built it for pure range fun.

Stan,
It does kinda give a "lowrider" look or something along those lines. Wish I knew how to do all those modifications some of you guys can do. The worst thing in the world around guns is me with a screwdriver in my hand exclaiming" I've got an idea." Nice lookin mods you did to that one.

The MIM guns are easy, all of the parts just dropped into my 10-14........Wilson Combat springs, extended firing pin from C&S, I did have to fit the trigger stop into the rebound slide which is completely un-necessary but I wanted to try one I have big hands, so the hammer and trigger work well for me. I have since added a rubber S&W logo standard Hogue RB to SB conversion grip. Also "plugged" it
