Sounds like a pretty rare gun. You'd better get it lettered.
Oh, and where's the pics of your new CTG!?

You just take pictures and then point the CTG at the phone and say "POST THEM!"
Works great.

My great grandad had a CTG in 1915. He shot down the Red Baron with it. I have a video of it on Youtube. You should post pictures of yours on ARfcom.

I think this is the part where I roll my eyes at you, , berate you for not providing enough information about your gun, and then ask if you are looking to sell it.

How do you know it was a real CTG? Was it electric penciled under the GRIPS?

We can't date it until you open the wheely thing and give us the numbers, upside down letters, triangles inside circles, etc. stamped on the frame........you know, the cereal number.
Also, I’m guessing the finish is real shiny so it must be chrome.

Don't forget, we also need all the letters and symbols underneath the grips for proper identification.
Do you have the box? If so you can run an algorithm on the codes from the label and determine the exact time and date the gun was made, as well as what the assembler had for lunch.

I thought they had been recalled? Better call S&W because if the discombobulator wasn't replaced with the proper thingamajig, it could get a little wompyjawed !

Well, ..... after perusin' the photographical evidence, ... it seems to me that it's just your everyday-common-usual CT. Maybe some closer pichurs would confirm.
(I'm purty sur I read on here that all the "G's" were being dropped. Somethin' to do with gimpy keypads, so I think that's just a CT.)
BTW, I've got this pard that does blacksmiffin'. He makes some purty good knifes and I bet he could make you a matchin' knive for yor new CT if yor intrested.
Just Holler.

Really? As if we don't have enough extemporaneous persons '
floating in with their sporadic descriptions and fuzzy pictures
YOU, an experienced shooter/collector/ humanitarian/ and
fellow forum friend feel it necessary to place toungue firmly in cheek and make fun of those that call our old pre models CTG. ??
Um ,,is it a 357? by chance? or just a plain old 38 Special ctg. ??
Good luck with this one.

Wow! I can't believe the stupendously awesome excellence of the macro photograph of the CTG in question. Such fine detail and great care in composition and exposure can leave no doubt that the subject is indeed the stunning, rarest of the rare holy grail CTG. Further comment by my most humble self is therefore not only unnecessary, without due merit and indubitably superfluous by its very presence on these hallowed forum boards......

OP...Hate to break it to ya dude, but if it doesn't have the word "specail" before the ctg, it's not worth as much.
peace out.

It's obvious that this is one of the Spanish, most likely Eibar copies. It's easy to tell this is not a real CTG as there are no toes or feet in the picture.
BTW, is Eibar still in business?

Oooh, that brings up another point. If somebody says my Registered CTG isn't really a true Registered CTG one more time, I'm gonna explode! Who needs some dang certificate? It says it right there on the gun. MARCAS. REGISTRADAS. Don't you know that's latin for Registered CTG!?

Marcus Registradas was an assembler at the Madrid "Conquistadore" "Alternas S&W" factory, it's just like an "inspected by 12" stamp.

Is it really Registered? To which agent? What a find...It does have the original Pachmayer grips on it doesn't it? Those are getting very hard to find in that condition!
This thread is the best laugh I have had in ages !!

The sad part is the poor NOOB who looks at the thread title and says to himself "I have one of those too."
I was that guy a long while ago, and I often look back and laugh at me.

I saw a CTG on GB, but it was way too expensive. The owner must have thought it was a C&R made out of chrome.
I think we have too much time on our hands. Ya'll for writing these posts and me for reading them.

Y'all can make fun of that picture all you want, but even I can see that it is a snubby. If it wasn't cut down, that's got to be a pretty rare CTG. I'd wait for one of the real pros to step in and say his piece before I let that thing go for less than it's worth. You might be cheating one of your kids out of a college education.

Look at your S&W revolver. It probably says "38 S&W Special CTG" on the barrel. LOTS of folks have come here to announce their excitement over their recent acquisition of a "S&W CTG".

Your hi point must be one of those engraved ones I keep seeing in the pawn shops....you know...they actually engraved 9mm, .40 S&W & .45 ACP on the barrel. Don't see that anymore either!

Here's my first attempt at a picture. My cousin's friend's sister posted it for me.
The guy at the flea market that sold it to me said the barrel would straighten out after the first shot. He read that on the Internet, so I know it's true.

Remember, with a Dremel it works best at its highest speed and with the most jewelers rouge that you can get to hold on the cotton. Or better yet, use an aluminum oxide stone. Those are even better.
