Pinto Finish Guns
I didn't know there was such a thing.....unitl I saw it on page 16 of my new S&W book.........under the tree this morning! As circumstances would have it, I just saw one a couple of days ago and didn't have a clue what it was. I believe the one I noticed in the case was a .22 caliber. I'll go back and check if anyone is interested. I think the price tag was ~$1K. Maybe they'll let me take a phot and I can post it.

I have a 2 1/2" Model 19 at S&W right now being turned into a 'pinto.' As of Wednesday it was still in the stripping tanks so still a few weeks away.
I have looked for one for years, to no avail, so I am doing the next best thing.

Would be interested in knowing what size frame it was? J frame or K frame? Also look forward to some pics and any additional info you could provide like the condition, frame markings on the barrel and frame under the grips, serial number, and or model number if it has one. Always cool to know about these when they pop up.

Now would that be a tobiano or an overo? I'm guessing an overo.

It was definately a J frame. I looked at it again today and the price was $1,200. I'll see if they will let me get that info.

Sorry, but there are different varieties of "pinto" markings. I was just being funny. Guess my reference was a bit too obscure.

Some will say that a Pinto is just a "parts piece" and does not deserve any special recognition. I think they are very nice and they are different. I like mine. If you like it and can do it, go for it.

You got me 3 ways on this one. I'm a sucker for a snubby, I'm a sucker for a model 19, and now I'm a sucker for Pintos ! That is a beautiful gun.

.
Was this the one at Hill's on Capital Blvd. in Raleigh? They wouldn't let me photograph it, but the stocks are non matching and David Caroll has 8 of the at a much better price in his current list!
Regards, Jesse

You had me excited until I checked David's list - they are EITHER blue or nickel. The only Pinto he has is $7500.
