Default Mistake on 13-1?

At gun show today along with talking deer heads and jerky I found a 13-1. Great shape tight, fired very little about 90%. Priced at $425. I offered $350 thay counterd with $375 + 7% tax. I walked? I guess there will be other shows this winter.

Was it N.Y.S.P. marked? According to the SCSW book, the 13-1 was only made from 1974-1977.

At $400 OTD I probably would have bought it, but $350 does seem to be the price range on these.

I always look at where I am in the difference. An extra $50 to me isn't a lot of money, but it might be to someone else depending on their budget.

My 3" 13-3 has one of the smoothest actions in the safe.

Let's see. guy was asking $425 (presumably with the 7% tax)
you offered $350 and he countered with $375 plus the tax. Sounds like you didn't really want it too much.

I agree Caj, it really doesn't make sense to walk away for $25, but then again I wasn't there to see the condition of the gun.

Sounds like one I would have bought by your description for $400 out the door. Just my 2 cent opinion.

+1 Lets face it if you REALLY want it $25 isn't much. If you want it to flip it an extra $25 just means a few extra months till prices catch up with your area.

For $375 I would have jumped on it. It ain't gonna get any cheaper.

$375 is probably only $25-50 under market.

What was the barrel length? If it was a three inch and round butt, I wouldn't have left the building without it.

Did you wonder back by his booth to see if he might have changed his mind? Sometimes you have to walk to get the best deal, just know when to walk back by.
