Default +P ammo in a 1970 era Model 10

Forgive me but I am new to S&W revolvers. But I've gotten the bug and recently picked up a 1970 or so Model 10....4" tapered barrel.

Already put a couple of boxes of 38 special ammo thru it, standard 158 grain stuff. And I LOVE the way it points, shoots and feels in my hand. Plus, the DA pull has no creep and it is wonderfully smooth.

My noob question is this....can I run +P ammo thru my new beauty? It is 158 grain....I meant to pick up some standard stuff but got the unintended box of +P.

Have no fear. I put nearly 70K rounds of Plus-P ammo through my 10-5 (early 70's production, IIRC) with no ill effects. The rifling was a bit thin, but the gun was as tight when I turned it in as the day I got it.

If the revolver is model marked (1957 or later) it's good to go with +P ammo so you can shoot all you want.
