"Lame" 14-3 update
Boys,
The "lame" single action only 14-3 is now in the posession of this author. It is absolutely 99 plus percent. Not even the faintest of a turn line or any sign of having been fired. Came with two set of after market goodyears and the instruction sheet. No box or tools. Will shoot her tomorrow. Pics are with wrong grips- so will be looking for period corrects it anyone has a set they would like to part with let me know please.
Regards
Bill

Yeah right it's lame all right and it's also a very sought after revolver. But it's also hard to prove it's that way from the factory without the box with the special order markings or a factory letter as many were alerted after they left the factory.

Real or not, that is one sharp looking revolver. I don't know if I could resist the temptation to not shoot the heck out of it with my own cast reloads.

Very nice Target Masterpiece there! I've got one on the way - should have been here today (who waits 3 days to send it out after the MO is there?)
Man that really is a nice one. I keep going back and looking at the pictures and that complete lack of a turn line.
I know where one that is supposedly all original and SA only. Don't recall the condition as I could not see past the $1,200 price tag (box, grips original - don't recall if it had tools)

Flint, I got this one for just a little more than a third of the $1100. But no box and wrong grips. Got it from original owner and he was calling some Jay Scott pearl wannabes the "original" grips. Had Pachmyers on it. Oh well, it really is a nice single action only.
regards
Bill

If you don't have proof that's that it left the factory that way then it's way to much for an altered gun. I would love a factory original or even an altered one but they would have to be priced right based on the facts on what they were.

It still wouldn't be an original revolver but to me it would be more desirable then one someone did the conversion in their basement or even had a local gunsmith do. What that adds or detracts from the value is up to the buyer to decide and what they are willing to pay.

Gents,
I took her to the range today. I honestly think I was the first to ever fire it. I have a nice collection of Smith & Wessons. This 14-3 single action only is the most accurate Smith I have ever shot. What a delight it is. Have a couple of friends that now feel the same way, after they shot it. Probably ran about 250 through her. What an extreme pleasure this weapon is to shoot. I am afraid she outranks my 2 pre 14s, and that is saying something. I guess like FYIMO suggested, I will have to get a letter since I don't have the box.
Regards
Bill
