Default .22 Revolver Help

Hey guys I was wondering if someone could help me. I can't find my Blue Book anywhere. I've got a .22 revolver that I inherited. It's a K-frame with H22 Long Rifle CTC I stamped on the barrel. The Serial # is K663XX and it has a 6" barrel with an adjustable rear sight and a red front sight (that doesn't look factory). It doesn't have the original grips but I'm going to look around and see if I can find something suitable.

Thanks

If you indicated the right number of digits in the serial number then it was made in 1948 and would be a Model K22. It is a wonderful revolver but the red front sight would not be factory unless it's painted red by someone. This became the Model 17 in 1957 when they changed from names to Model numbers.

It would be a 5 screw and should look like this one except it probably would have the magna diamond stocks on it instead of the diamond targets that are on this one.

That is it, I'll have to find the grips. Whatever is on there isn't very stable. Any idea if it's worth anything?

If it's really clean and tight and doesn't have lots of wear they sell for between $500 and $600 or even higher if they are in near unfired condition and have the box, tools, and paperwork. The target diamond grips like those pictured cost about $150 by themselves but the diamond K frame magna grips can be had for a lot less off ebay or in the forum classified section .

Thge 22LR S&W revolvers are very hot sellers these days and the price has risen on them over the past couple of years.
