Just bought a Model 60 with serial number R2329XX. Any ideas when built? Thanks!

1979-1980. That's from the 3rd edition SCS&W. The fourth edition may have more detailed breakout.

probably 1979 as the s/n range for those two years is R220,001 - R280000

The 4th edition reports the same date range. Is this as 60-1?

One more question - when did S&W discontinue the numbered grips on the model 60? Thanks!

Don't have a specific date but it was in the early 80's.
