Default ID 38 Special

I am considering buying a 38 spl revolver with 6 inch barrel SN201562. Would like to find model number and mfg date.

It sounds like a .38 M&P that's close to 100 years old (fixed sight K frame). I assume you're getting the serial number off the butt and there's no letter prefix in front of the number.
