Default Help me date my Smith and Wesson?
I recently purchased a Smith and Wesson Model 65-2 pinned and recessed. Wonderful looking gun and from the rounds Ive put through it, it shoots like a charm.



Im trying to find out a production date for it, serial number is 1D42950. Anyone able to help me date this gun?

According to my book on S&W, the 1D30001-1D45000 were made 1978-1979.
