Default Loading .45 ACP Full Moon Clips

While attending NRA bullseye matches some years ago I occasionally encountered a very pleasant gentleman who fired Master Class scores with a Model 25, which greatly interested me. He used ACP cases and those empties that didn’t fall out he simply flicked out with a fingernail. I, on the other hand, came to appreciate the convenience of full moon clips, while practicing to emulate his skill. That never happened, but while I was trying, a buddy (giving up on revolver bullseye) gave me this homemade lever gizmo for clip loading. It is not real speedy, but it works fine, and I have come to appreciate it more and more as arthritis creeps into my hands. No more bullseye target shooting, but still lots of fun with the Model 25-2.

Hey Mc, that looks great! I use a store-bought one, the red item in the pic below. I can see that your home made version would make it really easy...

I've been using the .45 ACP tool from BMT Equipped, Inc.
BMT Equipped, Inc.

It is expensive but mooning and demooning are fast. The two components are light in weight.

The Model 25 in 45 ACP is a great secert and a hoot to shoot. The right tool makes the moon clips easy to load and shooting with them is a breeze. I love mine and would hesitate to use it for home defense.

I use a similar "store boughten" device for my 25-2, 325NG, and 625 Model of 1989. Takes all the pain out of shooting .45ACP. That's a nice homemade tool.

I made this for my Model 1917 (both Colt and Smith & Wesson) .45 ACP revolvers. Based on a design from this thread.
