Default How common is a Model 53-2 4 inch?

I just today looked at a Model 53-2 with a 4 inch barrel.
In the past I have only seen them with longer, 6 inch or longer barrels.
It was at a So. California gunstore, priced at less than 600.00.
The condition was overall very nice but, had some blueing wear and a small spot of corrosion. It had diamond target grips but, did not include any accessories or box.
How common are these?

From what I have observed, the 4 inch Model 53's are the least encountered. The great majority I have seen were 6 inch.

That is an excellent deal.

The 4 inch Model 53 is the LOUDEST handgun I have ever shot.

I am surprised that a 53-2 has diamond target grips. I agree with BUFF, they are LOUD!

Buy it quick if you are at all interested. That is a fantastic price. They are a niche gun but can be a lot of fun if you reload or are thinking of getting into reloading. Good luck.

You don't see many 4-inch 53-2s. I bought this one many years ago. It was shipped in 1967. The 53-2 model variation could have shipped as early as mid to late 1962 and diamond targets were used until sometime in 1968, and would be original for many of these revolvers. The Jet is a fun gun to shoot with proper ear protection!!

I've decided not to get it.
It is less than pristine with some holster wear on the blueing and grips.
If someone else in the area is interested, let me know and I can give you details on the shop.
