Default Favorite Wheelgun

I have a Model 19, 4 inch barrel, combat grips and trigger that I bought in the Rod and Gun Shop in Heidelberg in 1976. It is by far the best wheel gun I have owned. It continues to be a pleasure to shoot and the only one of my handguns that my wife feels comfortable shooting.

It's hard to decide what's my favorite revolver. Sometimes, it's my K-38 or Model 15, but sometimes it's either a Model 10 with a 4 or 5 inch barrel. It just depends.

My favorite has always been my CS-1, but since I was stupid enough to let it go, my 28-2 fills that part of my life now.

chud333, I love your holster. That is just plain awesome.

For me, it's my 5" model 610. I just had it out this evening so I could work on my steel plate shooting. I wish they still allowed 5" barrels in IDPA.

For range time, my 15-4 4 inch has the sweetest trigger action I've ever felt. For carry it has to by my 36-1 3 inch. Can't seem to convince myself to carry a K frame....

I guess it depends on my mood and what I'm doing. If it's just plain fun it's my Model 617 no dash 4 inch or Model 18-3 because it's about as much as a guy can have for a whole afternoon for less then $20.

If it's serious shooting then my Model 27-2 with 3.5 inch barrel or my 25-2 with 6 inch barrel and 100 rounds of 45 ACP in moon clips.

Man, how do you pick a favorite? How about a favorite blue one, nickel one and SS one? Or maybe a favorite in each caliber?
I cannot even do that so I guess I'm in the camp with which ever one is in my hand.

29-2 4" nickle and a 27-2 5" nickle, both from the late 70's. Doesn't get much better to me. Bill

Either my 4" M28-2 altered to .44 Spl, or my 4" M624, basically the same gun. Or maybe my 4" .38-44 HD. Might have a different fave next week.

My favorite Wheel Gun is a 4" S&W 44 Mag.

I have used one as a Duty Gun/Off Duty Gun, I have shot IPSC Matches with it, I have carried it for animal protection on hunts in Texas, Colorado, Montana, Idaho, Alaska, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.

I have killed a lot of small and big game with it, and a lot of small game and snakes, with shotshells, first loaded by me, and later with factory loaded CCI/Speer factory shotshells.

If I could have only one revolver, it would be a 4" S&W 44 Magnum...

My favorite revolver? Easy. My S&W 18-3. Why? Because if it gets pointed at anything inside of 50-60 yds., whatever it's pointing at is going to get hit. As well it is in 98% condition and has beautiful S&W target grips. I think it is wonderful! i am very thankful to own it.

Really. Smith & Wesson is like Lays potato chips...you can't have just one! But seeing how this is a 61-80 thread...my model 49.

Just spent this past weekend deciding which revolver goes in the bug out bag, 581 won the contest with the model 19 close behind.

Favorite wheel gun would be a 25-5 I carried daily for 25 or so years....former partner named it "ol' neverfail"- as for what is on the hip or in the pocket when off duty, it's usually a mdl. 34 w/ a 2 inch bbl. with a speedloader or two.

Small, light, accurate, relatively quiet and lots of shooting for not much money.....admittedly not the ideal tool for an off duty shoot out but hopefully enough to get me to the truck for a real weapon

Mine is a Model 57. I had a 57 Mountain Gun in the past, had to sell it but just found a NIB replacement for it last week. I will not sell this one.

Well, it would be a K frame, probably my 66-4 in 2.5". But it's a hard choice between that one and my 10-4 3" or 64-5 4".

A tough question to answer; I would say my 19-3 6in for hunting and my 10-5 4in for carry.

I would also find it impossible for me to pick a favorite.
I do like short barrel guns, but the choices are so infinite that I don't think I could do it.

Next to my grandfather's Woodsman, I truly love this 27-2. It carries well, handles well and it shoots like a dream.
