Default Model 28-2 with a KB twist.

Hi Folks,

Was at the North Ohio S&W bunch meeting a couple weeks ago and bought this for my wife. We were fortunate enough to have been able to talk with Keith Brown for for a while at the show. A very nice man with a super talent. He had a nice display of stocks showing his styles and fine woods used.

Before we left my wife suggested I purchase a set of his stocks for one of my guns. In the case was this 28-2 S-prefix gun with a set of coke-style grips he had made and hand fitted to this gun. He even stamped the serial number of the gun inside the grip panel.

Well , what could be better than a set of KB stocks? I'll tell ya...A set of KB stocks already attached to a nice 357. The wife really liked the 28 so she ended up with KB stocks AND a gun.

Oh well. It is nice having a wife that supports my hobbies and it was the least I could do. Before we left I had her run back in a buy a nice reflocked presentation case from forum member Joe Cebull for her new gun. Probably the only plain model 28 ever proudly displayed in a presentation case.

This model 28 hasn't made it out to the range yet but I am sure it will shoot as good as it looks.

We have a lot of nice guns we are very proud to own but none more than this one. It proudly displays the talents of some of our own forum members. Both of these guys are class acts and if you have ever thought of doing business with them you can be sure you will be satisfied.

What a great forum with great members. Special thanks to Keith Brown and Joe Cebull.

Twig.

Congrats on the gun, grips and case, but mostly on the great wife.

I had some e-mail correspondence with Keith, and I have a set of Grips on order for my 27-2 (4" Nickel) and I could not believe how gracious, pleasant and professional he was over e-mail.

I heard he was a super nice guy, but he really impressed me with is customer focus.

He was apologetic that it would take 5-6 months to get a set made and shipped to me. I explained that people like me have no problem waiting for something that is quality.

Beautiful revolver stocks and case by the way.

I am trying to get my wife into shooting, and I have a Model 19, and a 28-2 that we can put some .38s through. She is OK with me shooting, she's just not into it.

The 28-2 is appreciated by most S&W fans. They are work-horses, but it is nice seeing a set of KBs on it.

It wears them well.

I have never seen a more nicely outfitted 28 than yours! Thanks for showing the old girl the respect she deserves!

I was also there and saw those beautiful grips on that nice 28. I did not know the gun itself was also for sale until I later was talking with Keith and the gun was gone from the display case. I love his grip work and have a set on a LH 24-3. I would have certainly been tempted if that 28 was still there later in the day. It looks like it went to a good home and will be pampered in that nice presentation case.
