.41Mag Identification
I have a S&W .41Mag as follows:
1. Type - Hand Ejector
2. S/N - N834131
3 Caliber - .41 Magnum - Worded on the right side of the barrel
4. Barrel - 4" barrel
5. Rear Sight - Post-War Adjustable
Please tell me what I have, I can tell you the S/N on the frame is not the same as the number on the yolk.
Thank you
Noel

Looks like you have a pinned barrel, recessed 4 inch Model 57 no dash in Nickel. Beautiful hand gun

You see that "MOD. 57" on the frame when you open the cylinder? That`s what you have. That 69736 number isn`t a serial number. the "N" prefix number above the model number is the serial number and will match the number on the butt.

Thank you Jackcpat and Lawman445, I appreciate your help. I purchased this gun a few years ago for $200, it's in excellent condition, I have shot it, for me it kicks like a mule, too bad for the bad guys, ha

It is a large or N frame gun, first made in 1964 as a (slightly) less powerful alternative to the model 29 in .44 Magnum. It is likely from the early 1980s with the N prefix and number quoted.
I suspect you probably don't load your own ammunition for it, but you can find less than full power loads from a few ammo companies; easier on you and the gun. Full-power .41 Magnum from it would be quite a double handful. Hope this is helpful.
