Default NIB Model 58 Found at OGCA Saturday

At the OGCA Saturday I saw several at the tables ranging in price from 800 to 1250 and had decided to leave when I noticed a gentleman holding an open blue paper box at a short distance talking with another man and heard the phrase 41 magnum being said a couple times, I stood nearby and at the ready and when their conversation was obviously over "I pounced", low and behold what he had was this NIB 58 along with manual, all papers and unopened toolkit. Serial # N2737XX.

Only problem is that that at some point someone harvested the original grips and these were put on to replace them.

Anyone have any idea if this serial range would be in the neighborhood of the last of the model 58s to be built ?

terry

Terry...the stocks look correct. Are they numbered on the right stock panel to another revolver?

Stocks be danged...that is a very nice 58. I would love to have a NIB 58 from the diamond stock days.

Great catch

In the ideal world there would be a database created by someone smarter than me that could be used to reunite guns and grips...
