Default Does it Ever End?

I just recently purchased a LNIB 66-4 and haven't had a chance to get to the range with it yet-next Friday hopefully. A member had sent me a PM the other day about looking out for a model 15 for me and low and behold another member sent another pm about one he had, a 15-3. After sending several pics of it, I couldn't resist and bought it. This is getting insane.

Another shot of this beauty. I guess I'll be spending this weekend making some 38 Special loads. With five possible powders and several plastic containers full of cast bullets usually reserved for the 357, I think I'm ready.

My "Duty" gun. A 1973 15-3 with smooth targets.

Tack drivin' rock solid shooter. My kids are always arguing over who's gonna get it when I'm gone. They love it causes it makes them look real good on the range.

Who said anything about not shooting it? This one was made to shoot. I've already gotten some SWC's stored up for next Friday(4.5 gr of 231) and if my new mold from CastBoolits gets here in time, I'll have another mold to cast from and make some 150 gr ones from the Lyman clone 358477 mold.

Anyone know where I might find some checkered target grips for this one?

I had been wanting one to just shoot 38 Specials in and this fits the bill nicely. It was a toss up between it and a pristine model 10-5 I had been looking at but I guess the adjustable sights cinched it for me. Who knows-I may get that one too...I can't believe I just said that.

Repeat after me, "I am in control", "I am in control" (OH, what was the price of that M&P?). I thought I was in control, but I just realized almost the end of May and I have only bought 4 guns so far this year. My 1 per month isn't working.

None needed-wish I had the funds to be classified as a collector but that's not the case. I've had two revolvers I never shot and sold them to someone who wasn't as squeamish as I was. One was a Signature Edition 1861 colt Navy and the other a 4 3/4" Peacemaker from the Custom Shop. I was planning on shooting the 45 Colt but after looking it over and imagining the history behind it...well, I sold it to someone who was starting a collection and knew both went to good hands.

I like those grips on George's but I'm going to try and find some checkered target grips for this one to see how it handles as opposed to the magna grips.

You said it Air Force! I once picked up a model 67, and having never fired this particular revolver EVER, I preceded to drill the center out if the target! The Combat Masterpiece is a magical piece, but then again most K frames are. Dale

You are doomed to the uncureable disease of Smith & Wessonitus. It never stops. Just when you think you have the twelve steps controlled BAM another one comes along you cannot do without. Ask me how I know. Started out with a model 10, from there on it was all downhill. Enjoy the M15, I have one and they are fun to shoot. Frank

+1 for this. The idea of buying some commemorative gun or instant collectible like an SAA and never shooting it disturbs me greatly.

It is a well known fact that S&Ws prefer to have lots of company, lest they get lonely locked away in those safes. Don't worry too much about the insanity. Most folks I know have been this way for thirty- or forty-years, or more. After a while, you don't even notice it.

Good looking Combat Masterpiece.

You guys are fortunate to have some "external controls" on your S&W insanity! Mine loves them. Especially after showing her the difference between the current interest rate on our savings accounts vs. the appreciation on our Smith's. "Let's see Dear, I bought this really nice Model 57 for $325 in 2008and now..." Works every time.

Since you never see a hearse with a trailer holding a gun safe on its way to the cemetery, have fun NOW. It does end at death (or a really horrid divorce settlement!), however that's not your concern.

Besides, when there are cuties still around to buy, who can resist?

Oh, man-look at this beauty!! Shines like any Python I've ever seen...totally beautiful. This has to be a safe queen. I don't have a wife to fuss over my expenditures so that helps. It would have been nice when I did have one if she had been as understanding and supportive as some others but.....

Only reason I'd buy a highly collectable gun is to flip it if it's a good deal, and that would be short term.

My only safe queens are guns that were passed down and a few of my old favs I don't shoot any longer but will pass to my kids if they're interested. And most of those ain't too prettyDoes it Ever End?
